Tesco Ireland has opened the doors on a new store in Citywest, Dublin. The new store, located at the new residential development, The Quarter, will offer customers a modern retail experience and a wide selection of quality fresh local and Irish produce.
The Express store, based in Dublin 24, brings the total number of Tesco stores across Ireland to 176. Local suppliers Manning’s Bakery and Granby Ltd, famous for its Irish meats, are just some of the great local producers who will be found on the shelves in Citywest. The store has also been fitted with several energy-saving measures, including fridge doors, which will help reduce energy consumption.
Geoff Byrne, Chief Operating Officer, Tesco Ireland said: “We are delighted to open the doors on this new store in Citywest, in southwest Dublin. This store is part of our ongoing investment in stores in urban centres across Dublin and the rest of the country. We always receive such a warm welcome from the communities in which we are now based, and we are committed to ensuring that our new stores play a big part in these local communities in the future.”
Tesco is a proud supporter of the communities it serves. To date its Community Fund has helped support thousands of organisations across the country from GAA clubs to children’s charities. In its first campaign the new Citywest store will support the locality with donations to three local causes, St. Mary’s GAA, Connect 4 project, and Scoil Aoife community national school Citywest.
Through the food surplus redistribution programme, FoodCloud partners and OLIO Food Waste Heroes will be on hand to ensure no good food goes to waste. The Citywest team will also join Tesco’s continued efforts to support its charity partner, Children’s Health Foundation which supports all sick children in CHI at Crumlin, Connolly, Temple St, and Tallaght hospitals.
