Linwoods Health Foods are delighted to sponsor the Team of the Year Category in the 2024 Her Sport Awards, presented by Lidl. The Awards take place on Saturday 25th January, at UCD Astra Hall, continuing a proud tradition of celebrating the incredible achievements of Irish sportswomen and the volunteers who make sport possible. Lidl’s three-year commitment as title sponsor underscores their dedication to driving equality and recognition for women in sport.

The Her Sport Awards has become the landmark event for women’s sports in Ireland, celebrating incredible sporting achievements and shining a spotlight on the athletes, teams, volunteers and trailblazers who are pushing boundaries in our proud nation.

From record-breaking performances at the Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games to unprecedented success on the international stage; 2024 has been a landmark year for women’s sport. There were record-breaking crowds and landmark moments around the world, as the conversation around equality was spotlighted. Demonstrating the cultural influence, five of Ireland’s seven most-watched sporting events this year featured Irish sportswomen.

Visibility remains a cornerstone of Sport Ireland’s Women in Sport Policy, focusing on amplifying representation and recognition for women in sport. This year, Sport Ireland has partnered with the Her Sport Awards presented by Lidl to reinforce its commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable sporting landscape.

The Impact of Her Sport

The Her Sport Awards align with Her Sport’s mission to increase participation, attendance, and recognition for Irish sportswomen. Recent survey results of the Her Sport community found:

●      60% believe Her Sport has positively impacted their participation in sport.

●      99% believe Her Sport is making a positive impact for girls and women in sport.

 

 

Founded in Ireland, Her Sport is the country’s largest platform dedicated to women’s sport and one of the biggest in Europe. By breaking barriers and amplifying voices, Her Sport is driving a more equitable future for women in sport, at all levels.

 

A Celebration of Excellence

The event will be hosted at UCD Astra Hall and guests should expect live entertainment, exclusive athlete interviews, and inspiring storytelling. Highlights will be broadcast on TG4, ensuring fans across the country can join in celebrating the achievements of Ireland’s exceptional sportswomen.
