In an unexpected twist, half of the respondents (and 54% of non-partnered respondents) said they’d consider accepting a date if asked in a supermarket. Even more shocking, 15% would say yes immediately and share their number! It seems aisle 5 could be the new hotspot for romance – who knew that picking up milk could lead to a date?
2. Strange Date Spots – From Bogs to Bus Stops
In a surprising revelation, respondents shared that some of the strangest places they’ve been asked on dates include supermarkets, bogs, funerals, and even bus stops. It seems love can truly blossom anywhere – even in the most unexpected settings.
3. Romantic Date Nights – A Favourite for All
Romantic date nights remain a favourite across all age groups, with up to 59% of respondents saying they plan to keep it traditional. Whether it’s a candle-lit dinner or a cosy night in, romantic nights at home remain a cherished way to celebrate, proving that sometimes a night spent together at home is all you need.
4. The Classics Never Go Out of Style
For the 18-24-year-olds, Valentine’s Day is all about the classics – think chocolates, flowers, and desserts. These timeless gifts remain the go-to for younger people, and research proves that these age-old symbols of affection are here to stay. A box of chocolates and a bunch of flowers are still winners when it comes to romance.
