ALDI’s 36 Day Matured Specially Selected Tipperary Dry Aged Black Angus Ribeye Steak €13.99, made history by becoming the first Irish product to receive the prestigious Diamond Taste Award. The coveted award recognises products that have won a 3 Star Superior Taste Award for seven out of the past ten years and is regarded as a hallmark for foods that are exceptional in quality, consistency, and taste at this year’s International Taste Institute Awards. This ALDI product has achieved 3 Stars for the last seven years!

ALDI’s impressive haul continued with the supermarket picking up two Crystal Taste Awards for the Specially Selected Irish Black Angus Bone In Rib €25.49 (1.5kg), a delicious joint bursting with flavour, as well as the wonderfully decadent Specially Selected Exquisite Irish Black Angus 3 Rib Roast on the Bone. The Crystal Taste Award is only bestowed upon products that have received 3 Star Superior Taste Award accreditation for three years over a five-year period.
A further four products were awarded a 3 Star Superior Taste Award. These included Irish 30-Day Matured Fillet Steaks €10.99, Specially Selected 32 Day Matured Irish Black Angus Ribeye Steaks €11.29, Specially Selected Irish Black Angus Fillet Steaks €13.79, and 36 Day Matured Specially Selected Tipperary Dry Aged Irish Black Angus Striploin Steaks €13.99, underscoring ALDI’s commitment to sourcing only the finest quality meats from Irish producers nationwide.
How do the ITI awards work?
All of the steaks are prepared by highly qualified chefs in a professional kitchen. The jury, who are made up of the best chefs in the world, including Michelin star restaurant owners, and private chefs to country presidents sample the steaks in a blind tasting format (steaks are presented without any producer notes) and score on specified criteria including (1) Visual (2) Taste (3) Texture, and (4) Final sensation.
