Focus Ireland, the housing and homelessness charity, is calling on businesses across Ireland to help fight homelessness this Christmas by sponsoring a star on the iconic Focus Ireland Christmas Trees in Dublin and Cork. Sponsoring a star demonstrates a company’s support for Focus Ireland, and their commitment to ending homelessness.
Throughout the festive season, the charity will have Christmas trees proudly in place at the top of Grafton Street, Dublin, and outside Kent Station, Cork. The Focus Ireland Christmas trees are a symbol of hope to those without a safe and secure home this Christmas.
Each star sponsored by the business community, from family-run businesses to corporate multi-nationals, is an incredible gift to families during the toughest of times. Focus Ireland last year supported 18,000 people who were homeless or at risk of homelessness, a 12.5% increase on the number of people the charity supported in 2022. Since 2001, thousands of stars have helped raise funds for vital homelessness services. A €1,000 donation could provide 200 hot nutritious meals in the Focus Ireland Coffee Shop on Eustace Street, Dublin. Sponsoring a €5,000 Star could help Focus move two families out of homelessness by providing housing in long-term accommodation.
Companies who sponsor a star will have their logo displayed proudly on the panels around the Focus Ireland tree displays, as well as on a virtual Christmas tree at sponsrastar.focusireland.ie. As a star sponsor, companies will also have the opportunity to share the positive impact of their support with their own customers, clients, and suppliers. Focus Ireland hopes that this initiative will encourage more like-minded individuals and businesses to give generously, whether through personal or corporate donations.
