ALDI’s Nutgrove, Rathfarnham “Project Fresh” store has reopened its doors to customers today following an extensive renovation project investment of over €1M which has seen the store interior completely refurbished.
Store Layout
The updated Nutgrove store now features the new layout that includes a wide selection of fresh food at the front of the store, hi-spec fixtures and fittings throughout the store plus new product category signage that provides an effortless shopping experience. The customer-focused layout allows for the products customers know and love, to shop more easily, whilst browsing new ranges.
Last year, ALDI invested €7.2 million in upgrading 6 of its stores throughout Ireland with the launch of Project Fresh Enhanced. Project Fresh Enhanced introduced in-store exciting new units such as a fresh herb stand, a dedicated bread and cake fixture, as well as a Health and Beauty feature.
ALDI has begun the installation of self-service checkouts at select stores, including the updated Nutgrove store. The trial of these new checkouts opened to the public in May, with ALDI committed to retaining this service for customers, while continuing to innovate with new initiatives.
Environmentally Powered Store
ALDI has invested heavily in improving its energy management systems and its entire store network is now powered by 100% wind generated energy. The retailer has achieved ISO 50001 accreditation in recognition of its efforts to improve energy efficiencies. The renovated Nutgrove store will also receive a CO2 upgrade, meaning there will be more environmentally friendly refrigerants in store.
Community Supports
ALDI’s Nutgrove store is deeply rooted in the local community and participates in ALDI’s national partnership with FoodCloud, donating surplus food to local charities on a daily basis. To date, the store has donated over 17,500 meals through FoodCloud, equating to almost 23,700kgs of CO2 emissions avoided. ALDI’s Nutgrove store is also part of ALDI’s Community Grants network, with Women’s Collective Ireland, Tallaght Cancer Support Group and Irish Heart Foundation some of the local charities that have benefitted from the programme in recent years.
Speaking at the reopening, Piotr Werecki, ALDI Nutgrove Store Manager said: “The Project Fresh revamp of our store is fantastic news for our local customers. The new spacious design makes for a very enjoyable shop and customers can easily find everything they need with convenient store opening hours. We are also thrilled to take part in the trial of ALDI’s brand new self-checkouts. Our promise to our Dublin customers is that we will never be beaten on price, and we will always provide the best value. In this current environment, it is more important than ever that customers can always avail of great value products at unbeatable prices here in ALDI.”
Operating 26 stores across County Dublin, ALDI has become an established part of the Dublin retail landscape, proving very popular with shoppers for bringing greater competition, choice, and value for money.
