Posted on: 06 Oct 2022

ALDI Ireland has appointed 360, A FINN Partners Company, as its new strategic corporate communications agency in Ireland on a three-year contract, it was announced today.

The appointment will see 360 partner with ALDI to advise on, and manage all corporate communications for the retailer, with a specific focus on delivering ALDI’s ‘Value for Ireland’ strategy – the retailers’ renewed commitment to delivering value for Irish shoppers, its people and the communities in which it operates. The contract was awarded following a competitive tender process this year.

ALDI, one of Ireland’s leading retailers, employs over 4,650 people and operates a network of 153 stores across the country, with stores in each county in the Republic of Ireland. The retailer has added four new stores to date this year.

Last month, ALDI Ireland announced a significant West of Ireland expansion programme, which will see the company invest over €63 million and create 140 new full-time jobs and 350 construction jobs across Connacht over the next two years.

360, A FINN Partners Company, is a leading communications consultancy based in Dublin. Led by Founder and Managing Partner Dan Pender, the company comprises a team of almost 20 communications professionals who advise some of Ireland’s and the world’s leading businesses and brands, including Irish Distillers, IDA Ireland, Bus Éireann, Liberty Insurance and now ALDI Ireland.

The Irish-founded and based consultancy was acquired by global communications firm FINN Partners last year.

ALDI Ireland’s consumer communications are handled by Legacy Communications.

Commenting on the new appointment, Padraig Barry, Communications Director at ALDI Ireland said:

‘ALDI Ireland is acutely aware of the pressure consumers are under at the moment. Equally, as a leading retailer and employer, we are not immune to the challenges of doing business today, and we appreciate that these challenges are impacting our strong network of over 300 local Irish suppliers throughout the country.

‘This is why we will continue to invest in offering value to our customers, supporting and expanding our local supplier network, and investing in our stores, people, and the local communities they serve.

‘We are delighted to partner with the team at 360 on this important journey at this crucial time. This will see us deliver and communicate on our renewed Value for Ireland strategy, which is all about how we will continue to support our customers, people, partners and communities to weather this storm.’

Commenting, Sarah Regan, Partner, 360, A FINN Partners Company said:

‘As a leading retailer and employer in Ireland, ALDI continues to grow and develop, with an expanding network of stores throughout the country. Given the current economic climate, which is proving challenging for both businesses and consumers, the role of ALDI and our retail sector has never been more relevant. How we tell this story and communicate with customers and suppliers, amongst other stakeholders, matters now more than ever before. We look forward to supporting ALDI on this journey.’
