ABP Ireland was awarded 27 medals at the prestigious World Steak Challenge 2021 ceremony, which took place virtually on November 10th, with the judging process taking place at FIRE Steakhouse in Dublin. The international competition enables beef producing nations across the globe to compete for these prestigious industry awards. ABP was the most successful Irish producer at the awards and reaffirms the company’s position as the leading beef processor in the EU.
ABP was awarded a number of different accolades across several different categories, including 18 gold medals. All of ABP’s awarded meat products were produced at the company’s state of the art facility in Cahir, Co. Tipperary. These awards are an endorsement of the unique Ultra Tender Process that the company utilises.

This is further endorsement of our Ultra Tender process that currently sees ABP beef served in Michelin starred restaurants across the world. We will continue to strive to maintain the high standard of quality that our customers expect.”
The World Steak Challenge offers leading steak producers across the globe the chance to benchmark their products against competitors and aims to highlight the benefits of eating steak as part of a healthy balanced diet. The World Steak Challenge is in its seventh year, after it was suspended in 2020 due to Covid-19 restrictions.
As part of the judging process, products are judged in both raw and cooked form by an expert panel of judges against internationally agreed criteria. All entries are assessed by a panel of over 50 independent judges including top chefs, butchers, food writers, meat scientists, authors and trade personnel in a blind tasting.
This announcement follows ABP’s recent success in achieving 14 stars at the Great Taste Awards and 11 awards at Blas na hÉireann.
