Lidl Ireland Named Retailer of the Year at the Irish Quality Food Awards 2024

Lidl Ireland has been named Retailer of the Year for the first time at the Irish Quality Food Awards 2024. The market leading discount retailer also secured a record 104 award medals at the prestigious event including 29 gold, 35 silver and 40 bronze medals. The awards recognise excellence in product development for food and drink producers, retailers and manufacturers across Ireland.

 

Lidl also secured the prestigious Drinks Retailer of the Year and Private Label Range of the Year award on the night and took home gold for their Deluxe Irish Cream Liqueur and Bitterol Aperitif, as well as medals for its quality spirits range including Dundalgan Triple Distilled Blended Irish Whiskey and Wild Burrow Slow Distilled Irish Gin expertly developed by West Cork Distillers in Skibbereen and The Craft Brewing Company Irish Craft Saison and Craft India Pale Ale by Rye River Brewing in Co Kildare. 

 

Proving the retailer’s fresh offering is going from strength to strength, key products that secured medals included a number of Lidl’s quality beef steaks including its Deluxe Irish 32 Day Aged and 30 Day Aged Angus Striploin Steaks. New to Lidl’s everyday range, its private label sushi was awarded an incredible 4 gold medals for Sushi Ichiban & Matsu, Sushi Prawn & Surami Poke Bowl, Sushi Salmon Poke Bowl and Sushi Zen & Sakur.
